Working for Our Community

Rachel's Priorities

Focusing on Educational Access

As someone deeply invested in the educational welfare of Aventura’s youth, Rachel recognizes the vital importance of accessible education for our community’s future. Serving as a Commissioner, Rachel is committed to collaborating with the Commission to build upon the robust support for Don Soffer Aventura High School. Furthermore, she is dedicated to exploring innovative avenues that will expand access to public education for younger children within our city.

Addressing Transportation Challenges

It’s undeniable that tackling traffic issues on Biscayne Boulevard and the Lehman Causeway presents complex challenges. Nevertheless, our community can proactively address these concerns by directing attention and resources towards transit solutions. This includes further development of successful initiatives such as our bike share program and the strategic placement of traffic calming devices, discouraging non-resident commuter traffic from utilizing local side roads.

Strengthening Public Safety

Aventura’s dedicated police force works tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community, but they face mounting challenges ahead. With the ongoing expansion of Aventura Mall and other entertainment venues, the introduction of a Brightline rail station, and the growing population of neighboring communities, the landscape of public safety is becoming increasingly intricate. Rachel is committed to providing unwavering support to our local law enforcement, ensuring they have the necessary resources and personnel to maintain the safety of our neighborhoods.
